SCIM

SCIM provides a standardized way to automate user provisioning and deprovisioning across applications. With OpsLevel’s SCIM integration, you can automatically manage user accounts, roles, and group memberships from your identity provider. This reduces manual admin overhead, improves security posture, and ensures the right people always have the right level of access.

By extending this integration with Custom Integrations and Data Mapping, you can map SCIM data to OpsLevel properties — enriching your catalog with organizational context and driving more effective governance.

How does it integrate?

OpsLevel’s SCIM integration works by enabling your identity provider (Okta, Azure AD, etc.) to push user updates to OpsLevel. As users are added, updated, or removed in your IdP, OpsLevel automatically provisions or deprovisions those accounts and applies the correct roles.

Extending with Custom Integrations

You can extend this native integration with our custom data mapping functionality. This allows you to bring even more data into OpsLevel from your tech stack with spending hours building plugins.

    • Enrich SCIM integration with additional metadata from your identity provider.
    • Map department, role, or custom attributes from SCIM into OpsLevel to better understand service ownership.
    • Automatically update service ownership or compliance checks based on identity changes.

    Example Use Cases

    • Map “Engineering Department” from SCIM to OpsLevel service groups for accurate ownership.
    • Use SCIM user role attributes to auto-populate OpsLevel user roles and permissions.
    • Sync contractor start and end dates from SCIM to OpsLevel to automate lifecycle governance.
